UNDERWATER NEWS

Bodrum (Turkey) is considered to be center of underwater archaeology in the Mediterranean. The Institute of Nautical Archaeology, founded by Prof. George Bass in 1972, has been excavating shipwrecks in the region since the day it was formed. With the cooperation of the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, directed by Mr. Oguz Alpozen, the Institute transformed the Museum into a showpiece of our nautical heritage.

Bodrum is also a great location for scuba divers. With many dive clubs serving the town and the region, divers can find great excursions to remarkable sites in the area, most of them no farther than one hours sailing.
